(1). Take Gary V. He’s one of the most powerful influencers for millennials. All you see now are his power moves. You see that because he put each goal at the end of each “LANE”, he talked and built up an audience to support his goals, that’s it.
If you had followed his social media some time ago, you saw that it was filled with athletes. You saw interviews, pop-ins of players, him on the scene with athletes and later a sports division in his marketing agency. (Goal). He presented himself as a connector with athletes and tapped into their individual audience which made it believable to sponsors and brands that want to use or work with those athletes’ audience and now they have to work with Gary because he already has them under contract and can influence deals.
(2). If you followed Grant and saw him talking to and interviewing people in real estate to build a following that is interested in that; It was for a reason. His main
end goal at the end of his ”LANE” is to build out a real estate fund that he will use other people’s money to make big real estate deals.
(3). Have you ever really looked at a successful fashion brand?? They rarely say, “BUY ME NOW” in their marketing or advertising (which are two different things). Think of how many times you’ve seen that in their images or videos. They show you the activities a specific ”LANE” has that people in it relate to, which makes you buy that brand. A shirt is a shirt, but if you’re wearing a Louis Vuitton shirt, you feel luxurious, right?! That’s because they own the ”LANE” that convinces you that if you own it, you will feel that way and be looked at that way by your peers which, in turn, connects an emotion to that ”LANE” of feeling luxurious.
We can go on and on with examples of ”LANES” in social media that are shown to you, so let’s stop at 3 and hopefully you get the point.
“LANES” are nothing but roads to get to your goals.
